• What is 4G?

    4G (also known as LTE or long term evolution) is the 4th generation mobile network. 2G brought calls & texts, 3G introduced data and now 4G brings speed. It will mean much faster data speeds for smartphones and tablets – up to 10 times faster than 3G.

  • Do I need to buy a new handset in order to use 4G?

    In order to connect to our 4G network you need to have a 4G ready device, 4G SIM (Usim) and to be within 4G coverage are.  If you have already 4G enabled device and you are in 4G area our eir mobile Business Solutions Team are on hand to assist. They will organise and post straight out to your business.

  • Is 4G only available for phones?

    You can avail of our superfast 4G network also using our mobile broadband with USB,  MiFi devices or Tablets

  • How much will it cost to upgrade to 4G?

    All business customers will be able to avail of 4G at no extra charge for the data

  • Will my 4G device work on the 3G network?

    Yes. If you are in an area where there is no 4G coverage your device will switch back to 3G/2G so you can continue to use all the key services on your phone.

  • Will I receive an alert when I have used my allowance?

    Yes.  An SMS will be sent to you when you reach 80% usage.

  • Can I use my 4G device when I am abroad?

    Yes.  eir mobile customers will be able to use their devices when they go abroad, just like they can today. You may not be able to connect to 4G networks abroad but will have access to 2G and 3G networks. Please remember  that using data abroad is  subject to data roaming charges.
